Brixton world cup guide......and everything on this coming weekend
I can’t lie…
I’m a little excited for this World Cup. Especially in Brixton. I remember the streets of Coldharbour Lane turning into a street carnival when England reached the quarter-finals — every screen full, every street buzzing. It starts tonight: Mexico vs South Africa, 8pm, free on the big screens at Hootananny. A month of noise, money and good vibes headed Brixton's way — I plan to catch all of it. Full disclosure: I’m a Ghanaian supporting England and Ghana, and FIFA has put them in the same group — so 23 June is the most complicated night of my summer. The team at BCC has built the ultimate Brixton World Cup Guide: every match that matters, curated for every Brixton screen, all in UK time.
If we’ve missed a venue, email life@brixtonculture.com and we’ll keep improving it.
