Brixton's Beer Just Beat Britain's Best Beer
Last week at the Old Red Lion in Kennington, Loughborough Junction’s Supercute Brewhouse put its 4% session IPA, mama, up against Deya’s 5.2% Steady Rolling Man — routinely ranked among the UK’s best beers — in the final of the pub’s Battle of the Breweries.
Brixton’s Supercute mama won.
On the way, it knocked out brewing heavyweights Vocation and Siren, in a field that also included Pretty Decent, Five Points, Mondo and Drop Project.
“We are absolutely gobsmacked,” said Supercute’s James. “We’re not saying mama has stolen the title of number one beer in the UK, but in our local area of South London, the drinkers have decided.”
